SUMMARY:Juice Box Social (Fernie)
DESCRIPTION:There has been a change to the Juice Box Social schedule!! The JBS’s will now be happening once a month\, and they will be a pajama party! \nThe Juice Box Social is a drop-in group for families with babies and toddlers from birth to two years. Siblings and visiting family members are also welcome to attend. The program is based on the building blocks that community connection between parents\, all ages of caregivers and family are the main support for early learning. The weekly program lasts just over an hour\, Anie Hepher loves to facilitate a 20-30 minute program with songs\, stories fingerplays\, musical instruments\, and even scarves. She loves to provide parents with music to help with all the daily transitions of young family routines. Using music as a way to connect with your baby and with one another\, we spend time chatting and relaxing\, with coffee and snacks provided. Once a month soup is provided. For the first few weeks of October\, our group meets outside at Fernie Rotary Park and once things cool down we gather at the Fernie Seniors Citizen’s Drop -In Centre. I pursued a diploma with Olds college and graduated from there Costume Cutting and Construction program. I’ve honed my skills in precise pattern making\, meticulous garment construction\, and a keen eye for fabric selection. \nI was born and raised in Calgary\, AB and continued in the industry after graduation\, then relocated to Fernie BC 2.5 years ago and have never looked back! Driven by a profound passion for sewing and textile art\, I’ve found immense joy and fulfillment in sharing this craft with others. I am dedicated to imparting not just technical skills but also a deep appreciation for the creativity embedded in every stitch. Women’s Wheel offers a welcoming introduction to throwing clay on the pottery wheel in a supportive\, relaxed studio environment. \nInstructor: Caroline Payne \nWhen: Fridays\, 7–9 pm Price: $59 Ages: 19+ \nAbout the Event\nWomen’s Wheel is a casual\, experience-focused introduction to wheel throwing\, ideal for beginners or anyone looking to reconnect with clay in a friendly\, encouraging space. No prior experience is required. \nThe fee includes clay\, tools\, and firing for one finished piece. This workshop is about the experience rather than the final product. One piece will be finished by our pottery technician and may take up to six weeks to complete. Participants will be notified by email when their piece is ready for pickup.
